Silicon Carbide (SiC)

Dual-Purpose Deoxidizer & Carburizer with Exceptional Hardness

Silicon Carbide (SiC) is a synthetic compound produced through the Acheson process, heating silica (SiO₂) and carbon at ~2,000°C. As a dual-purpose deoxidizer and carburizer, SiC simultaneously introduces both carbon and silicon into molten metal, improving deoxidation efficiency, thermal conductivity, and reducing energy consumption. Its exceptional hardness, chemical stability, and corrosion resistance make it indispensable across steelmaking, foundry, non-ferrous metals, and chemical industries. Available in multiple grain sizes for diverse metallurgical and industrial applications.
